How to find Hardware configurations in Linux Ubuntu | How to Check Hardware Information in Linux for inventory by using software

Learning the common Linux-based commands is essential to get the best of the benefits that this OS brings. Though, putting an accent on some more specific commands will improve your work and will provide you and even more freedom and opportunities with your Linux job.

To get Hardware configuration informartion is very easy in Windows operating system.In Linux case there is little difficult to know system's hardware configuration.Here is the easy way to get all hardware information of your system.Follow below steps.

  • First we need to open Terminal and install one of tool by performing below command.


It will ask several time to install tool.
Enter Y to continue installation.After finished the installation we need to launch hardinfo tool by performing command on terminal.
It will open software in GUI format. 
Now here is the option of Generate Report .Just click on Generate Report button to generate your system's hardware status.After pressing on Generate Report software ask you to Generate what system report you need to check.
After that software will ask you to where that report file save. You can save anywhere that file.

You can check Hardware information manually

Click on Summary tab to see all hardware details of your system in summary.
Press on Processor tab to check processor details.
To check filesystem status by clicking on file system panel.
